ALEXANDER ZIERLER
Head of Movement Therapy
The qualified sports scientist has
been working at MAYRLIFE for the
fifth year. In his free time, he enjoys
climbing, hiking, cycling, mountain
biking, and skiing.
The research is clear: optimal functioning of most
vital organs, balanced energy levels, and maintaining
a healthy body weight are only achievable through
regular physical activity. Regular exercise stimulates
metabolism and enhances cell health, while also
supporting the hormone and immune systems.
What’s more, moderate physical activity also nur-
tures mental and emotional well-being. The secret
lies in a balanced mix of endurance, strength, and
coordination exercises.
The MAYRLIFE Health Concept and exercise
Exercise is a fundamental pillar of our holistic health
approach. In the context of the MAYRLIFE Cure,
low-intensity physical activity serves as an ideal
complement. It promotes better circulation,
supports detoxification, and can help alleviate any
‘cure crises’. After conducting a thorough medical
assessment, each guest receives a personalised
training plan that can be adjusted as needed. While
many guests deal with similar issues, such as back or
shoulder problems, mobility levels often differ signif-
icantly.
Most commonly underestimated by our guests
Mobility is essential for a long, healthy life, yet it is
frequently underestimated and overlooked. At
MAYRLIFE, our aim is to help guests cultivate lasting
habits that will sustain their health long after their
stay. This is why every guest receives a personalised
sports and fitness programme upon departure. I ad-
vocate the 80:20 approach to exercise: 80% of the
training should be low-intensity, enabling easy con-
versation and steady breathing, while the remaining
20% can be high-intensity. This often surprises our
guests, particularly the high performers accustomed
to associating training with pushing their physical
limits. Moreover, many are taken aback by the crucial
role recovery plays in a balanced training regimen.
Recovery is not a luxury, but rather a secret partner
to effective training. Muscles, endurance, and overall
performance are not developed during the workout
itself, but in the vital recovery period that follows.
Supported by proper nutrition, regular walks, rest
days, and quality sleep.
