 Sun Protection Policy / Procedure
Welcome to the Harvest Policy Corner where we address some of the current policies used within the College.
Sun Protection Policy / Procedure
With the holidays upon us, the 2024 school year feels like something in the distant future. However, it will be with us before we know it, so I just wanted to update you on our Sun Protection Policy and Procedure.
Harvest uses a combination of sun protection measures for all outdoor activities during terms one and four, and whenever UV levels reach three and above at other times. A combination of skin protection measures are considered when planning outdoor events like camps, excursions, and sporting activities.
Our College uniform includes protective measures such as shirts with collars and elbow length sleeves, longer style shorts, dresses and skirts, and shorts and loose-fitting collared sports shirts for Physical Education classes.
We also have sunscreen in all classrooms, which is applied 20 minutes prior to going outdoors, and every two hours if remaining outdoors, in terms one and four, and at the discretion of the College at other times.
All students and staff are required to wear hats that protect their face, neck and ears whenever they are outside during terms one and four. Students are expected to wear the approved College bucket hat. The College reserves the right to require staff and students to wear hats at times during terms two and three when the UV Index levels reach three and above. At any time when hats are required, students must play under shelter if they do not have their hat on. Therefore, leaving a hat in your child’s bag, or in their classroom locker or drawer at all times throughout the year is advisable.
I hope you have a wonderful, restful holiday break.

   Disabled Car Parks
We kindly request that you avoid utilising the designated disabled parking
spots located in front of the College for the purpose of quick pick-ups or drop-offs.
This practice has resulted in individuals who rely on these parking spots being unable to access them. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding on this issue.
