From the Principal Mr Peter Ayoub How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.
Psalm 133:1
Welcome back to 2024 and a special welcome to those who are new at
Harvest Christian College. This year we have 38 new students, including our Foundations, beginning at Harvest for the first time. Thank you to everyone who has made them all feel welcome and to our students who have come back to school excited and ready to learn.
Last Wednesday night we had our ‘Meet the Teacher’ night and it was great to see so many of our families get together for an informal chat with the staff and a sausage sizzle. If you were unable to make it we would love to see you at our next Primary School Community Breakfast on Wednesday 27th March or the Secondary School Community Breakfast on Friday March 22nd.
I would like to congratulate our SRC, Prefects and House Captains on winning their leadership positions for 2024. It was great to be able to hand our Primary School students their certificates and badges this week and know that each of them will work hard to service our school with their many gifts and talents. We are looking forward to the special training and development days that our leaders will take part in over the coming weeks.
This is a very exciting year for Harvest Christian College as we are now officially a part of the Tyndale Group of Christian Schools (TGCS). Already our CEO, Mike Potter, has addressed our students and staff and is quickly becoming a well known staff member in the school. We welcome the TGCS team to our school and look forward to the partnership we will have together.
On our first Monday back, the TGCS had a get together at Tyndale Christian School Salisbury East where over 500 staff from across the 4 Tyndale schools spent time together networking, initiating the Principals of the 4 schools and hearing some encouraging words from CEO Mr Mike Potter,
as he spoke on the importance of our schools being ‘Intentionally Christian’. It reminded me of the above verse on what a blessing it is when staff and families work together in unity to give the young people in our lives Hope, Meaning and Purpose as we present them with a well rounded education from a Christian perspective, and allow them to understand that we are not here by a random mistake and that there is a God who loves them and wants to be a part of their lives.
I look forward to working with both our school community and the TGCS this year and pray that our students, families and staff have
a wonderful year together.
(John 3: 16): For God so loved the world, that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
