All slings and accessories
• There is no designated area for the storage of slings and accessories.
Risk Control Solutions
All slings and accessories
• Slings and accessories are stored off the ground on a properly designed rack in a clean, dry and ventilated place.
Store slings and accessories properly.
Synthetic slings
• Synthetic slings are stored where they cannot be exposed to:
– direct sunlight
– ultra-violet light
– extremes of heat
– sources of ignition
– contact with alkaline substance, or – chemicals.
Chain slings
• Lightly oil chain slings before any prolonged storage.
• Never heat or heat-treat chain slings.
Flexible steel wire rope slings
• Flexible steel wire rope slings never come into contact with corrosive substances.
Risk Control Solutions
• Fibre rope slings are not used for lifting.
Synthetic slings
• Synthetic slings are exposed to agents that can affect their quality.
Flexible steel wire rope slings
• Flexible steel wire rope slings are exposed to corrosive substances.
Fibre rope slings
