How and why do we interact with others the way we do? Social psychology is an area of psychology in which we first study and seek to explain our own and
others’ thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and behaviors. Then we study how we are influenced by the presence of and interactions with one another. How do we form impressions? Why do prejudices exist? Why do we perceive social situations the way we do? Social psychologists examine these issues.
