Burst into = catch fire very quickly
Example: The car burst into flames and the driver died as he didn't
have time to get out.
Burst into = laugh., cry or clap loudly
Example: She burst into laughter when she heard the joke
Butt in = interrupt
Example: I hope you don't mind me butting in on your conversa- tion, bit I couldn't help hearing what you said....
Butter up = praise or flatter someone excessively
Example: I tried buttering my tutor up but she still wouldn't let me
hand it in late.
