Example: I said I wasn't feeling well andgot out ofthe extra work. Get out of = leave a car, van, etc.
Example: We got out of the taxi and paid the driver.
Get over = recover
Example: It took me ages toget over the bout of flu.
Get over with = do something unpleasant rather than delaying it any nwre
Example: Igot the test over with rather than have to worry about it any longer.
Get round\around = persuade someone
Example: She didn't want to let me do it, but I succeeded ingetting
round her. (In American English 'around' is used)
Get round\around to =finally manage to do something
Example: It always takes me ages toget round to writing letters. (In American English 'around' is used)
Get through = contact
Example: I tried calling her mobile phone, but I couldn'tget through. Get to = annoy, irritate
Example: Don't let herget to you, she's just in a bad mood.
