BAYSWATER NEWS
Welcome
By Michelle Megson
It’s great to see so many people happily settling into the next stage of Pamela our first Bayswater Gardens resident
their lives by coming to live with us here in our beautiful residence.
Moving into aged care can be a difficult time for our residents and
their families. I thought I would like to offer some advice, having seen
so many people make this adjustment.
It is important for new residents and their loved ones to remember
that moving here doesn’t have to be a negative experience! Our staff
are often fascinated by the lives you have lead and keen to know
more about you. Aged carers are generally people who love what
they do and are interested in making your life better. Getting to know Our wonderful care staff
you can be difficult when there are so many new people. The way you
decorate your suite and your memory box at the entrance to your
suite give us things to talk about with you so that we can learn a little
bit more about you.
There is still time for some great memory‐making. Try to embrace a
positive look to the future. We encourage families to visit and be
involved in our home. Let’s live and laugh whenever we can. If you are
happy, so are we! If you aren’t happy about something, speak up!
Then we can help you. There are always forms you can use for this Residents on an outing enjoying the sunshine
purpose at reception but I would like to encourage you to talk to the
immediate staff or let me know personally.
Living here now, you are most definitely not alone. As you walk down
the corridor, many of the people you see quite probably are going
through or have been through the same emotions you are dealing
with. It’s important not to wallow in negative emotions. A new phase
is beginning, and you have control over how you want to live it. We
are always here to help you.
