AUTUMN 2022
BELLA VISTA NEWS
Welcome
By Sharon Reiha
The last three months have certainly been full on at
Bella Vista Gardens. In late November the Aged Care
Quality & Safety Commission attended for a 3 day
unannounced Accreditation Visit. We have only recently Val celebrated on Resident Celebration Day
received confirmation that Bella Vista Gardens passed
with flying colours and has been reaccredited for the
next three years. Thank you to all the residents, families
and staff for their feedback and assistance during the
audit process. Thank you also to the Cranbrook Care
Team for their support and assistance during the audit.
It was certainly a team effort.
Christmas was very exciting for the residents and their
loved ones. Social outings, catching up with loved ones
in and out of the residence, plenty of food and laughter
for all made a memorable time to be remembered. This Rob performing
certainly was a change after being in “lockdown” last
Christmas. Unfortunately, with the escalation of the
Omicron in NSW and despite all our infection control
precautions we were unable to keep the virus out.
Thankfully apart from some minor cold symptoms all
residents and staff recovered very quickly. The outbreak
has become a learning curve for all of us, as it should
be, because no matter how much we prepare, how
much stockpile of PPE we gather, how many education
sessions we deliver and how stringent our screening
process was, the virus still managed to get in.
