Winter 2017

                                                                     BELLA VISTA NEWS

                              Welcome

                              By Deb Cormack

As Dame Edith Sitwell, a British Poet noted, “Winter is the time for
comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly
hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home”. This Glenorie Bakery
sure sounds like winter life here at Bella Vista Gardens! I can’t wait
to try our new fireplaces and see you all sitting enjoying the lounge
rooms in all the areas. Curl up with a good book, spend time talking
with friends and family and drinking hot chocolate. Of course, if
you are not doing that you could be out enjoying our many special
trips including visiting our local parks, attending the Craft & Quilt
Fair, visiting the Chocolate School or out to see the Cherry Blossom
Festival, there is always lots of great things on.

A memorial service was held at BVG on the 31 May to celebrate Garden walk with Maree
the life of Harjit Kaur, one of our nurses tragically taken from us.
We have planted a colourful Tipouchina tree in our Camellia
garden in memory of her. A small plaque has been placed in the
garden. Harjit was a wonderful, caring nurse who was always
happy and would do anything for anyone. Please feel free to sit by
her tree, think of her, send a prayer or simply reflect.

It is hard to believe that our first seven months have flown past so
quickly. On 25, 26 and 27 July 2017, we will be having our Mother's Day lunch
accreditation visit by the Aged Care Quality Agency. Accreditation
is an internationally recognised evaluation process used in many
countries to assess the quality of care and services provided.
Residential Aged Care accreditation exists for the benefit of aged
care consumers – residents, their relatives and representatives.
We are loving welcoming our new residents and their loved ones.
Please feel free to contact me as I value your feedback.

With warm wishes Mimi and her niece for a Friday night BBQ
