Autumn 2019
BELLA VISTA NEWS
Welcome
By Janice McNair
Hello everyone,
Chinese New Year lunch outing
Autumn is nearly upon us, so hopefully we will get some necessary
relief from the heat — it has been a very warm Summer to date. We
will soon be notifying everyone ahead for the purpose of our annual
flu vaccinations, once they are available. As always, we encourage
everyone, including staff to be immunised.
In other news, we are trialling a new Dementia program app, which
can be used by staff and families to enhance and promote
conversation and interaction with the residents. There are games,
colouring/painting and conversation starters. Further information will Mums & Bubs Event
be given once the trial is completed.
The Leisure & Lifestyle team have introduced a games session and it
was pleasing to see so many residents laughing and talking during
this! We are also calling any interested residents who would like to
contribute to the community by volunteering some of their time to
assist in writing welcome cards for new residents and running various
activities, for example, bingo. (We are very fortunate to already have
a resident delivering the newspapers which is a great community
contribution). If anyone is interested please see Francois in the
Leisure & Lifestyle Team. Australia Day Celebrations!
As always, we encourage you to provide your feedback through to us,
whether it be a compliment, concern, thought or suggestion. Please
feel free to fill in a "My Thoughts" form, these can be found at
reception.
Until next time,
Sydney University Heritage Tour
