When BERTH is three years old he is left with foster parents. His mother (EVA) tries to sort out her own life and his dad (SENIOR) serves prison time for fraud. Ten years later Senior returns in a Rolls Royce he calls ”Lady Fuck”, he is now the owner and publisher of Sweden’s first porn magazine - Private.
Berth reunites with Eva and spends weekends at Senior’s place in Stockholm, learning how a porn magazine is made but also experiencing how Senior is more interested in having a piece of the models than spending time with Berth. When Berth walks in on Senior having sex with a model, Senior throws him out on the street. That’s when Berth makes the decision to never be like his father.
Despite good grades, Berth leaves Sweden at the age of fifteen and embarks on a cargo ship heading for South America. Life at sea, with regular bar fights and visits to broth- els, turns Berth into a man and he develops a characteristics of complete fearlessness. Step by step, Berth makes his own mark in the world, making millions of dollars in real estate, marrying his girlfriend and becoming a father the same year he turns thirty.
But just when things look great, he gets a phone call from Senior who is sick and broke. Senior begs Berth to save a bankrupt Private and help him to get his life back in order. Seeking Senior’s love and acceptance, Berth cleans up Senior’s mess and takes control of Private turning it into the largest porn business in the world with a Nasdag listing in 1999. Celebrities, investors and the media all want to be part of Berth’s extraordinary world. And when he ends up on the cover of Forbes Magazine, he is the world’s indis- putable porn king, outperforming Senior’s role models - Playboy’s Hugh Hefner and Penthouse’s Bob Guccione.
Some years later, Senior now well and healthy, shows up at Berth’s office in Barcelona. He accuses Berth for stealing Private and wants the company back. The case goes to trial where Berth wins on all counts. Driven by rage Senior hires the Hells Angels to put pressure on Berth to change his mind. But Berth is fearless and after several failed attempts to intimidate Berth, the Hells Angels pulls out. Instead, Senior reaches out to a cocaine addicted and bribable tax manager at the Swedish IRS. It doesn’t take long until the biggest tax case in Swedish history makes the news and overnight Berth owes the IRS 70 million dollars. Berth claims his innocence and hires a private detective to prove that he is being set upped and that everything is orchestrated by Senior. Berth fails to introduce Private at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange due to the tax issue and the management at Private now see Berth as a liability. A situation that a dutch porn dis- tributor tries to benefit from by trying to take control over Private. And when Berth receives the news that the police has caught an under age porn model at a Private film location, he realizes that his whole empire is in jeopardy.
A family tragedy puts even more pressure on Berth – his daughter has been kidnapped with a ransom of 5 millon dollars – and he makes the decision that it’s time to settle with Senior once and for all.
