  Why visit the Galapagos
The Galapagos Islands are known around the world for the amount of unique plants and wildlife located in such a small area. The Galapagos Islands were the source of Darwin's theory of natural selection, where he discovered the evolution of 15 different species of finches on different islands. Unspoiled natural islands
Only 3% of the archipelago is inhabited and the remaining 97% belong to the Galapagos National Park. Mixed with its location (620 miles from the Ecuadorian mainland) and its endemic fauna, the Galapagos truly is a perfectly preserved paradise.
An incomparable land and sea life
The flora and fauna of the Galapagos are unique and therefore pro- tected. In this way, the objective is to continue to conserve this small piece of land and sea in order to continue to benefit f rom the proximity of the animals. Yes, that's right, wherever you go you will be able to see many animals very close to you because, although they are wild ani- mals, they are not af raid of us.
Bird watching
Among blue-footed boobies, pelicans and penguins, the Galapagos are a bird watcher's paradise. The fascinating and unique bird species on the small Galapagos Islands include 56 different species - 45 of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. These birds play a huge role in conservation, evolution and biodiversity. Espanola and Genovesa are the best islands for bird watching.
Marine reserve
The Galapagos Islands are home to the second largest marine reserve in the world, covering 51,000 square miles, and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site! The incredibly docile nature of the wildlife here, due to the lack of human interaction, allows visitors to approach (safely) and play with wildlife in the natural habitat.
Beaches
The beaches of the Galapagos Islands are unlike any of the previous ones. Sea lions and iguanas do not fear your presence, mingled with crystal clear waters and perfect white sand!
Water activities are incredibly popular during the warmer months of the year - December through May - where snorkeling, kayaking, and swim- ming in the water - where you might meet these adorable sea lions, iguanas and turtles - are possible. The great thing about these beaches is that they are secluded and remote - mixed with the limited number of visitors to the archipelago - it's easy to find a private place to relax. So in the Galapagos you can swim with sea turtles while snorkeling, share a beach with sea lions or have to get off the road because there is an iguana, a giant turtle or a couple of boobies on foot. bruises in the middle of the road that has no intention of moving.
