It's tea harvest season. You will therefore know everything about tea by going to Nuwara Eliya, for example. Go to Sri Lanka in March to swim in the ocean with blue whales and turtles! And in April to celebrate with the Tamils and the Sinhalese their New Year. Indeed, this double festival: the “Puththandu” for the Tamils and the “Avurudu” for the Sinhalese is organized in full heart of the month of April: the 14! May is the cheapest month of the year to book a ticket to Sri Lanka. In June, enjoy the sublime beaches of the coast and in July set foot in the city of Kandy! You will visit the famous Sri Dalada Maligawa Buddhist temple there and enjoy the “Esala Perahara”, the festival of the Sacred Tooth Relic, for ten days! In August, go make friends with leopards and other big cats in Yala National Park. And in September, watch the migration of hundreds of elephant herds to Minneriya. Visit the Sri Lanka Cultural Temple in October when it is not crowded. In November, always flee the crowds by enjoying the south and west coasts of the country alone. In Colombo, in particular, this will be the ideal time to visit the National Museum, the Barefoot Gallery and the Cloud Red. Finally, lounge to your fullest on the beaches of southern and western Sri Lankan during the month of December.
