Providing Fascinating Travel Experiences
Why visit the Azores?
The Azores archipelago, right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, does not stop conquering fans all over the world. Composed of nine islands, all different and with their own charms, it is known for the natural beauty, food, mild climate, and hospitality of the Azoreans. Breathtaking viewpoints
The volcanic origin of the archipelago has made these islands high elevations. Due to the leafy nature and lagoons of dreams, the views from the viewpoints are absolutely stunning. In all the islands you will find an observation point with a wonderful landscape
Paradise Lagoons
In the Azores there are nothing more than sixty-six lagoons to see, admire and swim in. All beautiful, and in large part, caused by volcano craters. There are those with clearer, deeper, sweet or salty waters, surrounded by flowers, or forest or even fumaroles ... there are lagoons in the Azores for all tastes.
Close to Whales and Dolphins
If you like to see cetaceans in their natural habitat, then you are in the right place. The Azores are one of the largest whale sanctuaries in the world, and you can see more than twenty different species (one third of all existing ones!).
Enter a Volcano
Did you know that in the genesis of this archipelago are 1766 volcanoes? And that, of these, nine are still active? But don't worry, because the volcano you can visit has been extinct for over two millennia. We are talking about Algar do Carvão, in Angra do Heroísmo, on Terceira Island. Get ready to descend many meters of stairs, see stalactites and volcanic stalagmites, follow the paths of magma and still see the underground lagoon.
Hot baths
The iron and sulphurous waters of the Azorean natural spas have therapeutic properties, helping with skin and rheumatism problems, but also have a fantastic effect of total relaxation. There are springs with water temperatures from 85oF to 220oF. So, be careful, although the hot water complexes are very controlled, for everyone's safety. Gastronomy of Crying for More
We have all heard of Cozido das Furnas, an emblematic dish from São Miguel that is buried in the ground and cooked for five hours, or the no less famous São Jorge cheese. But the gastronomy of the Azores has many other charms hidden in the various islands! Only in the Azores will you really understand what Malassadas, Cavacas, soups from Espírito Santo, or f resh cheese with ground pepper are. Do not forget to point out, for later tasting, limpets from the Azores, stewed octopus, rump of Terceira and quick-drying cakes!
