  Why visit Portugal?
The geographical position of Portugal offers a warm climate in summer and pleasant winter. Located in Western Spain, it is the most westerly country in continental Europe. Its mix of musical culture, natural and flowery landscapes, warm hospitality, and dream beaches makes it a leading tourist destination. Lisbon, the oldest capital of Europe after Athens, was built on 7 hills, and was the port of departure for great explorers like Columbus and Magellan. The Chiado, Baixa, and Alfama are other historic areas where you can walk, or take the mythical tram 28 which passes in frontofthemultitudeofplacesofinterest. Oporto, the capital of the North, is known worldwide for its wine, where you can taste it and make some reservations. The city itself, crossed by the Douro, is splendid. Built like Lisbon on a hill, the streets are very steep but nevertheless pleasant for a stroll. From the Ribeira quay, the view is surprising with the bridge Louis I. The rest of the city deserves to stay a few days. You will guess that the region is mainly vinicultural, with its hills dotted with vineyards.
Madeira, unique island, is of volcanic origin, and still saved from mass tourism. The hike is a major activity of the island. The city of Funchal is the main city to stay.
The Azores: The archipelago of 9 islands with volcanic origins is perfect for hikes on the trails around the craters of volcanoes, rich flora, and amazing colors.
