WEEE Labels
On 1st July 2007 full producer responsibility commenced on the UK Government’s implementation of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive. From now on all producers who manufacture, import, export or distribute affected items within the EU are to label those products with the crossed out wheelie bin symbol.The WEEE regulations will apply to non-household sources such as the following groups;
Producers (any business that manufactures, impor t or rebrands electrical and electronic products)
Retailers and Distributors (any business that sells electrical and electronic equipment to end users)
Local authorities
Waste management industry
