Chemical and Substance Hazards
Wherever hazardous substances exist, either in use or in storage, the designated areas, rooms or enclosures should be properly marked to warn of possible hazards.These signs contain speci c symbols and text to identify clearly which chemicals or substances may be present.

Atmosphere Signs
Following the linking of explosions to the storage
and handling of combustible materials, the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR) were introduced
in order to comply with the Explosive Atmosphere Directive (ATEX 137). Since 2003, any hazardous place needs to be classi ed into zones and marked with an “EX” sign at the point
of entry.
