Number Line
A number line is a tool, which allows you to compare numbers and helps in understanding where they fall in relation to each other.
The numbers on the left of a number line are always less than the numbers on the right. The number line can start from -4 and go till 2. It will include the numbers -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2 in this fixed order. The order indicated that -1 is lesser than 0, 1, and 2.
Indicating rational numbers on a number line is tricky because all the numbers should be in the same form. If the rational numbers are in percentage, fraction, or decimal, you will first convert them in the same form.
Usually, plotting decimals is far simpler than plotting percentages and fractions. For example, if you have to compare 132%, 0.50, 11
5
The numbers are 1.32, 0.50 and 2.2
You can now compare the numbers on the number line
Using a number line, you can easily find the sum and difference of natural numbers when they are in the same form. The method is useful in understanding the addition and subtraction of negative natural numbers.
 Convert all three rational numbers to decimals 132% = 132 = 1.32
100
11 = 2.2 5
