Factorization
It’s the process of breaking down numbers or polynomials into the product of two or more factors. Also, prime factorization is the concept of breaking down numbers using only prime factors.
For example, 18 = 2 × 3 × 3
REMEMBER:
Factorization of algebraic expressions
a2 – b2 = (a + b) ( a – b)
a3 + b3 = (a + b) ( a2 –a b + b2)
a3 – b3 = (a – b) ( a2 + a b + b2) (a + b)2 = a2 + 2ab + b2
