Letter From the Editor
Dear Reader,
It’s my honor to welcome you to North Star Literary Art Magazine’s 2022 edition.
North Star is home to a collection of art from SUNY Plattsburgh’s student body, which is something every campus should have access to. Student publication is a great stepping stone into entering the art world outside of college, and it is my utmost pleasure to be able to bring these pieces home.
Sharing art is the most vulnerable a person can be; you’re shedding your skin down to the last layer and asking someone to take a look. I hold a deep passion in ensuring artists have a place to be seen and heard. North Star is a collection of love, and I hope, Reader, you can feel that.
As you read through, I’d like you to remember that art is everlasting. A piece in here could touch your heart and leave
a mark- that’s the power of creativity. As we start to leave the terrifying era of a global pandemic and enter into a world wholly changed, I’d ask you to recall the art you’ve created over the last two years. Recall the frustration and the satisfaction, the thrill of being able to create something. I’d like to encourage you to keep that creativity going. Be vulnerable, feel loved.
Sincerely, Caroline Miner
