DREYFUSS
No! No, that’s not true.
BOB
You’re not a revolutionary, Mr. Dreyfuss—or some
terrorist. But you are a hero. You’re the heir to a
long line of everyday heroes, people who put their own
well-being and even lives at risk to do something
nice, something decent, for a fellow human
being—someone they don’t even know. You should be
proud of that, Albert. Your wife certainly is. Why
don’t you put down that box and go home to her? Like
this never happened...
DREYFUSS
No, it is happening! And I’m not going back. She
doesn’t know who I am, and you can’t believe her . . .
BOB
Oh, I believe her, Albert. And I don’t believe you
have a bomb in that box.
DREYFUSS
I do, I do! Stand back. I’ll take you both with me. I
won’t live in such a world. The fascists have taken
over the government. They must be stopped. If I can’t
stop them, others will. I’m just a symbol—a symbol of
resistance. But if you don’t stand back, I’ll take you
with me.
                              Ray and Bob rush him. There
                              is a momentary struggle. Bob
                              grabs the doughnut box,
                              letting it fall to the floor.
                              Ray tries to grab Dreyfuss,
                              who eludes his grasp and runs
                              out. Ray pulls the gun from
                              his holster.
RAY
STOP, YOU LITTLE MOUSE!
As Ray points his gun out the
doorway, Bob grabs his arm
