began to bend, as if they were bowing politely to welcome the young girl into the world she so desperately wanted to join.
The wind started to pick up and Beeatrisa tried to fight through gusts as strong as the giants she read about in fairy tales. The weakest trees started to crash down, nearly smashing Beeatrisa into the ground. Through the chaos of the windstorm, the air began to whistle, as if singing a solo within its own choir.
As the magical wind kept singing its melodious tune, Beeatrisa asked, “Can you help me on my journey toward the kingdom, oh Great Wind?”
After witnessing Beeatrisa’s resilience through its damaging gusts, the wind replied: “You have great power, young one. I have not seen another human conquer my winds as you have. Only the broken that yearn to be repaired have tested my brawn.”
“I yearn to gain the strength to journey into the kingdom. However, I have lost my dear grandmother. I need to venture forward, but the pain keeps me from going any further,” Beeatrisa shyly replied.
“Ahh, I see,” whispered the wind. “Losing someone you love is a difficult task. However, realizing that you want to move on is an even more powerful objective. Your focus on the future will give you the strength to move on.”
“But I do not feel that way,” Beeatrisa quickly replied. “Losing my grandmother has made me feel feeble, like the trees your powerful winds knocked down. It is too difficult to continue this journey to the kingdom.”
“You’re more powerful than you think, young one. You’ve tackled my harsh winds, which shows me you’ve had the strength all along. No one has ever tested me before, or even attempted to battle my winds,” the cool wind made the young girl shudder.
“If I’m the first to ever battle your winds, I’m strong enough to move past my grief, and I must start living again,” Beeatrisa replied, after pondering her options to keep moving forward toward the unknown or to return back to her familiar home.
“Your will is even stronger than my most dynamic winds, powerful enough to move the mountains that I couldn’t budge,” the wind uttered.
