Crows caw, disturbing the early risers who wake before sunrise
with reckless abandon.
I chose to join them this morning with a cup full of violet determination and
my monarch shoes laced tight.
I wonder if you hear them, too, the Eastern brown squirrels chattering in their ambition.
Scurrying around damp grass fields
discussing the multitudes of man.
A barren tree on the concrete gray sidewalk emerges from a cocoon of Kelly
green leaves.
