Page 2 - This Month at Sansum Clinic – June 2021
P. 2

                       Dear Sansum Clinic and
Another way in which we will communicate more frequently is through clinic-wide Town Hall forums. Last year, in the throes of COVID-19 response, we held a few Town Hall sessions via Zoom to give everyone a chance to hear our plans and to ask questions. This proved to be a valuable way for our team to feel more connected, and we hope when future dates are announced, you will join us.
Right before COVID-19 hit, we had announced plans for a Staff Appreciation Party at the Santa Barbara Zoo for you and your families. While it is still too early to confirm an exact date, we are committed
to making this event happen, and are talking now about the best and safest way to do this, in partnership with our provider group, “Inc.” While the pandemic challenged us, finding ways to connect us more closely
is always a worthwhile investment and we are committed to using our resources to do so.
When I am out in our clinics, I am so proud to see all of the work you are doing, and I’m so pleased that you all continue to smile underneath your masks.
Sincerely,
Kurt Ransohoff, MD, FACP
CEO & Chief Medical Officer
Ridley-Tree Cancer Center
team members,
I am delighted to introduce This Month at Sansum Clinic, an internal newsletter we hope will connect you more closely to our mission, and will help to build a greater culture of community at our organization. During “Your Voice Matters” listening sessions, you told us you would appreciate more frequent clinic-wide communication to better unite us. My Executive Team colleagues and I have been discussing different ways to connect with you on a regular basis, and this newsletter is one method we will use to share happenings throughout our organization.
We look forward to sending out updates on topics like our financial performance, organizational goal progress, Press-Ganey patient experience data, new people, department announcements, as well as future plans for new facilities, programs and services. We hope this newsletter will inspire you as we recognize individuals and teams
for efforts that improve the care of our patients and each other. This repository of our collective successes and achievements will not only be informative, but FUN and entertaining. We anticipate that with each issue, our knowledge and appreciation of each other will grow, along with increased positivity, satisfaction and joy that can result when you believe your work is making a difference in the lives of others.
This is your publication. We encourage you to contribute to it, and collaborate with us to share important details we can all benefit from. You will have an opportunity to offer feedback, ideas, stories and photos. Human Resources VP Dan Weigel will still be sending out his weekly WE CARE Wednesday messages, but we will now tailor that toward WE CARE topics and behaviors, and save all the other good stuff for this newsletter.
