Welcome Dr. Avgeris
Aristides “Ari” C. Avgeris, M.D. joined our Goleta Family Practice on May 17 after serving most recently as a Hospitalist at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and Lompoc Valley Medical Center.
Dr. Avgeris earned a Master of Science in Microbiology and a Doctor
of Medicine from St. George’s University in Wisconsin. While there, he received the Morris P. Alpert scholarship for academic excellence and Best Clinician Award for his graduating class. He then completed a Family Medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin/Madison, followed by a Hospitalist fellowship at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. His other honors include being recognized twice as the Most Compassionate Physician Award, and as Best Regional VCOM Medical School Professor
at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Virginia, where he was Director of Medical Education. Dr. Avgeris has an 18-month old child and enjoys outdoor activities, gardening, poetry, winemaking and yoga.
