Testing the Newest Treatments
Research has always been an important part of Sansum Clinic, as established by our pioneering founder Dr. William David Sansum - the first American to successfully isolate, produce and administer insulin to treat diabetes. Our Clinical Research program supports Sansum Clinic and Ridley-Tree Cancer Center physicians conducting research and offering patients opportunities to participate in clinical trials for a wide range of medical disorders. A clinical trial is a research study that evaluates the safety and effectiveness of new drugs, devices and therapies. Patients who participate in clinical trials access groundbreaking research and contribute to advancing treatments and healthcare strategies for future generations.
Implementation of clinical research requires a team of dedicated physician principal investigators, highly-trained research coordinators as well as regulatory and data specialists. Our research team, located at Ridley-Tree Cancer Center, is recognized for their focus on patient safety and personalized care, and they compassionately guide patients through each step of their treatment.
