This film showcases the lives of Polish highlanders who perform old professions. These are people whose characters are shaped when confronted with nature and inaccessible mountains. Around the mountains, everything changes and they stand unshaken. Is the culture of Carpathian highlanders sustainable, or could these be the final times for these people living this lifestyle in the mountains, and not only as folklore in the museums of folk art?

Roman (Popi) and Ruth (Nani) Blank are Holocaust survivors, who have been married for 65 years, but at age 95, Roman reveals a secret to his family that tests their seemingly invincible union - Roman is gay and Ruth has been aware for the majority of their married lives. Told through the lens of their grandchildren, this award-winning documentary is filled with heart wrenchingly raw moments as captured in real time (cinema verite style) while at the same time, including lighthearted beats of humour. Following the film’s premiere at TIFF, The Canadian Globe and Mail awarded it 4 out of 4 stars, writing “The documentary is beautifully and skillfully sparse. You want more of this family.” OMWO chronicles their unique and unconventional love story that brings to light universal themes that touch on what it means to be human.
For most, getting to school is just a routine; for these children, it can be a brutal challenge. The difficult, often dangerous ways to school, dramatically shows just what some people are prepared to overcome in the pursuit of a better life. In the midst of the breathtaking nature on one side and the challenges that face the children on the other, it becomes uniquely clear how important the opportunity of education is for so many people in the world. We accompany the school children from some of the world’s most remote locations, beginning with their living environment and continuing on their way to school until they reach their destination. We take viewers on an adventure to some almost impossible to reach places, where the students navigate the narrow path between survival and the thirst for knowledge. Series three features Bolivia, Vietnam and the Philippines.
