‘Sri Lanka – Precious Isle’ takes the viewer on a trip to various places of this beautiful country. But rather than showing only picturesque landscapes, the story features seven different but outstanding characters. Some of the programme’s protagonists’ occupations might look common in a local context, though some developed a unique way to travel new paths. Passion, love and strength are but a few things all of the protagonists have in common.

Ever wondered why some animals have such crazy looking sense organs? Why do snakes have a split tongue? Why do elephants have such huge ears? Why do moths have antennae that look like feathers? Every feature has a special purpose that has evolved to ensure the survival of the animal. Just like us, animals rely on their senses for communication, navigation, finding food and staying safe.

There are few better ways of witnessing humanity in sync with nature than through falconry. In this energising documentary, we follow a young urban man on a voyage back to nature. A call from an old friend leads to an extraordinary weekend hunting in the wild with goshawks. Graceful, but super-skilled predators, this is a journey through natural beauty, and to self-discovery.

Most people don’t have any problem with these long-legged thieves, but if you run a fast food restaurant or live next door to the lady who feeds them each day, then these birds can become quite a nuisance. Streetwise opens up the floor to both their supporters and their opponents.
