Alexis Goughnour is the 23 year old daughter of Matt and Cori Goughnour. She grew up in St. Paul, Oregon with her younger sister, Ainsley. Horses have always played a role in her life right from the beginning. Some of her earliest memories consist of trail rides with her mom and rides around the pasture with her dad under the sunset and falling asleep in her dad’s arms on the back of a good horse. Although she spent a lot of her free time in the barn with horses, her youth was filled with many other hobbies as well; a
weekend without anything going on was rare. She filled up her time with many sports, playing volleyball all the way through high school, basketball through sophomore season, and soccer and softball in her early youth. When she wasn’t playing sports her competitive nature could be found in the show arena at 4-H and other local horse shows. Through 4-H she found many opportunities to build relationships and serve in the community. Her background in 4-H has instilled the importance of dedication to youth, community, and education. In October 2017 she put her skills to the test and was crowned the 2018 St. Paul Rodeo Princess which meant she had the opportunity to represent her hometown and community as well as the greatest sport on dirt. After graduating High School in 2018 she spent the summer traveling all around Oregon with two of her, now, closest friends and their families representing the St. Paul Rodeo. After a very rewarding year she started college at Chemeketa Community College and was crowned the 2019 Santiam Canyon Stampede Queen. After two packed years she decided to take a step back and support her younger sister in her adventures as the 2020-2021 Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon and take a new route to further her education. From November 2019-March 2021 she worked at Chrissa Wright Performance Horses, gaining a better understanding of the equine industry as a whole as well as furthering her horsemanship skills. In October of 2021 she competed for the Clackamas County Fair and Canby Rodeo Court and won the title of Queen where she had the honor of reigning over the 64th Annual Canby Rodeo in August of 2022. Alexis is currently working as an Office Administrator at Ernst Irrigation in St. Paul, Oregon.
Alexis is looking forward to representing the Clackamas County Fair and Canby Rodeo in 2023 as their Queen. She is excited to work to advocate for agriculture, promote rodeo, bring awareness to our western heritage, and invite people to enjoy the community surrounding the Clackamas County Fair and Canby Rodeo.
CONGRATULATIONS QUEEN ALEXIS!
