Career Highlights
• 2022: Claimed his fourth PRCA Tie-Down Roping World Championship and won for the second-straight year. He ended the season with $374,737, a season-earnings record by a tie-down roper. He also finished second in the all-around world standings with $372,965. In his eighth NFR, Smidt captured his fourth average title, winning with 82.5 seconds on 10 head. He placed in eight rounds including consecutive go-round victories in Rounds 1 and 2. In all, he brought home an NFR tie- down roping record $225,221. Won the all-around at the Guymon (Okla.) Pioneer Days Rodeo. Won the tie- down ropints at the Calgary Stampede (Alberta), the St. Paul (Ore.) Rodeo, the Home Of Champions Rodeo (Red Lodge, Mont.) and the Big Fork (Mont.) Summer ProRodeo. Co-champion at the Strawberry Days Rodeo (Pleasant Grove, Utah)
• 2021: Won his third PRCA Tie-Down Roping World Championship with $318,456 and finished second in the all-around world standings. He won Round 3 and placed in seven other rounds at the NFR. Smidt was a model of consistency taking home the average title with a time of 83.1 seconds on 10 head. He took home $191,576 from Las Vegas. Won the all-around at the Gladewater (Texas) Round-Up Rodeo, the Coleman (Texas) PRCA Rodeo, the Kansas (Phillipsburg) Biggest Rodeo and the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo (Abilene, Kansas). Won team roping at the Coleman (Texas) PRCA Rodeo and the XIT Rodeo & Reunion (Dalhart, Texas), with B.J. Dugger. Won the tie- down roping at the Black Hills Roundup (Belle Fourche, South Dakota), the Crooked River Roundup (Prineville, Oregon), the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo (Abilene, Kansas) and the Buffalo (Texas) Pro Rodeo presented by Bill Fick

• 2020: Qualified for the NFR but was unable to compete. Finished 16th in the world standings with $64,595. Won the San Angelo (Texas) Rodeo and the Deadwood (S.D.) Days of 76 Rodeo
• 2019: He placed in three rounds at the Wrangler NFR and finished sixth in the average. Won The American (Arlington, Texas), the Sheridan WYO Rodeo, the Greeley (Colo.) Stampede, the Snake River Stampede (Nampa, Idaho), the Kansas (Phillipsburg) Biggest Rodeo, the Tri-State Rodeo (Fort Madison, Iowa) and the Tri-State Rodeo Cinch Shoot-Out (Fort Madison, Iowa). Finished 7th in the world standings with $196,900.
• 2018: Placed in six rounds, including winning Round 1 as he went on to win his second world championship, finishing the season with $232,817. He also won the Wrangler NFR average for the second time in his career with an 83.7-second time on 10 head. He earned $142,846 at the Wrangler NFR, the most of any tie-down roper at the 2018 Wrangler NFR. Won the all-around and tie- down roping at the Pasadena (Texas) Livestock Show & Rodeo. Won the Dodge City (Kan.) Roundup Rodeo, the Rodeo de Santa Fe (N.M.), the Greeley (Colo.) Stampede, the Rooftop Rodeo (Estes Park, Colo.), the Rodeo Corpus Christi (Texas) and the Dixie National Rodeo (Jackson, Miss.). Co-champion at the Livingston (Mont.) Roundup and the Matagorda County Fair & Rodeo (Bay City, Texas)
