Remembering Dan Sandberg
Daniel “Danny” Earl Sandberg, of Canby, OR passed away on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 surrounded by family at his side. Danny was a beloved husband, dad, papa, and friend to many in Canby and surrounding communities.
Danny was born in Oregon City, OR and raised on his family’s farm in Canby, OR. He attended Knight Elementary School in Canby and graduated from
Canby High School class of 1965. He served in Vietnam in the U.S. Marines. Upon returning home from his service in Vietnam, he met the love of his life Rory Sandberg (Boyd) and they married in 1971. During their early years, aside from farming, he was a volunteer firefighter at Beavercreek Fire Station. They lived a wonderful life together on properties surrounding the Canby, OR area and raised two daughters.
He also did a stint as the Clackamas County brand inspector for several years.
Danny showed cows at the Clackamas County Fair throughout his childhood and was a proud supporter of the fair, Clackamas County 4-h, and Future Farmers of America (FFA). Serving on the Clackamas County fair board for numerous years brought him much joy.
