Father, Ted, was a longtime PRCA barrelman/clown who worked at the National Finals Rodeo in 1980 and 1987 (alternate 1986) and his Mother, Jennifer, is the CEO of Gold Buckle Realty. Sage’s older sister, Dusta O’Connell, is a pharmacist and his younger brother Trey is a bull rider ... He graduated from Cheyenne (Okla.) High School here he played basketball as a point guard all four years; the team won the state championship his senior year ... Became the youngest millionaire in PRCA history during the 2016 Wrangler NFR, at 22 years, three months and two weeks old ... His favorite book is “Psycho Cybernetics” and his favorite movie is “Shawshank Redemption.” ... He uses the hashtag #BecomeLegendary, because he hopes to not only be the best bull rider when he retires, but also the best person...To be legendary, you have to be the best in and out of the arena.

• 2021: Won his seventh PRCA World Championship. He finished the season with $411,465. At the Wrangler NFR he placed in six rounds and finished third in the average with 506 points on six head. He now trails only Don Gay in bull riding world titles (8). He also won the Xtreme Bulls year end title with $102,861. Won the Cactus Jack Xtreme Bull Riding (Uvalde, Texas), the Ropin Dreams Xtreme Bulls (Pleasanton, Texas), the Durant (Okla.) Pro Rodeo, the Ogden (Utah) Pioneer Days, the Kansas (Phillipsburg) Biggest Rodeo, the Hells A Roarin Xtreme Bulls & Broncs Riding and the Yellowstone River Round- Up (Billings, Mont.). Co-champion of the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo (Vernal, Utah) and the Mustang Seeds, Xtreme Bulls (Mitchell, S.D.)
• 2020: Finished second in the world standings with $184,764. Split the win in Round 10 and placed in four other rounds to finish sixth in the average with 423 points on five head and take home $92,764 at the NFR. Won the Herriman City Xtreme Bulls (Herriman, Utah) and the Gooding (Idaho) Pro Rodeo. Co-champion at the Iron County Fair and PRCA Rodeo (Parowan, Utah) and The American (Arlington, Texas)
• 2019: Won his sixth consecutive bull riding world championship and third average title after winning a record $235,359 (including ground money) at the Wrangler NFR. He won Rounds 7 and 8 and placed in eight. Kimzey finished at the top of the world standings with a record $480,797 (including ground money). Won the Reno (Nev.) RodeoWon the Reno (Nev.)
