BULLSEYE PRAYERS infirmities.” Thus, He invites us to the throne of grace in verse 16 to pray while standing up for us as our great High Priest. This feeling of our infirmities, deriving from being exposed to perhaps far greater temptation than we would ever experience, put Him in the position to pray that none of us will be lost to the world. Thank God for His high priestly ministry. If we are also touched with the infirmities of our brethren, those committed to our care, we will commit ourselves to praying earnestly that none of them will be lost to the world. You cannot be “touched with the feeling of the infirmities” of your loved ones and not remember them as a major priority in prayer. The responsibility is huge and remains right at the heart of God, and that is why when we pray this kind of prayer, He hears us, just like as He hears Jesus. If you and I are standing firm and secure in the faith today, or at anytime in our life, it is because Jesus prayed for His disciples not to be lost, and for us not to be lost also. If we have been beneficiaries of such a grace, we ought to abide in the same grace toward others: 136.
