BULLSEYE PRAYERS whatever was the will of the Father. In fact, He was sent to destroy the works of the evil one according to 1 John 3:8, 1 John 3:8 NKJV He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Jesus came to destroy the works of the evil one. It would be out of place fo Him not to pray that we would be delivered from the evil one therefore. And when we pray that God should keep us from the evil one or from evil (the works of the devil), we are praying to enforce and advance the ministry of Jesus on the earth. These are the things that should motivate these sort of prayers in our lives. It should be about seeking the growth of God’s kingdom and seeing the ministry of Jesus fully manifest in the lives of all the people, especially the children of God. With God this is top priority still, and such prayers are well respected and answered, when we come to the throne of grace. God has little tolerance for evil. He is a just judge who is angry with the wicked everyday. 148.
