P. 16

PREAMBLE: INTRODUCTION Remember that heaven and earth will pass away but the word of God will not go unfulfilled (Matthew 24:35; Mark 13:31). Hebrews 4:16 AMP Therefore let us \[with privilege\] approach the throne of grace \[that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor\] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy \[for our failures\] and find \[His amazing\] grace to help in time of need \[an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment\]. The truth is that many still do not have a testimony that is consistent with what the Scriptures promise about prayer. Most of us are still yearning to come to that point in our prayer lives where we always, continually and consistently obtain from the Lord everything we ask in prayer, in accordance with His will, without exception. Yet this is the place where Jesus wants us to be. He wants us to follow in His example and went to great lengths to make provisions for us to do precisely the same. He gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit, whose mandate is to help us to overcome our areas of weaknesses, key among which is prayer. The Holy Spirit is given to reveal to us so much more than Jesus could teach, thereby enhancing our ability to live like Jesus. 14.
