YOUR LOVE IN THEM Love is the greatest commandment as He acknowledged to the teacher of the law who had come to set a trap for Him by asking Him to confirm which is the greatest commandment in the law. Matthew 22:36-40 NKJV “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” \[37\] Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ \[38\] This is the first and great commandment. \[39\] And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ \[40\] On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” The greatest commandment that Jesus spelt out summarised all the commandments in one word - love the Lord your God with everything you have and can muster. The second commandment that He indicated to be similar to the first emphasised love for one another. It was crucial, therefore, for Jesus to see us also growing into the love nature of God, even after He had departed into glory. Love Forms Through Prayers Jesus prayed that God should put His love in His disciples and also in us. This indicates that it is important to pray in order to see that love takes root in our hearts.
