 GETTING HERE
DIRECTIONS
Just 16 miles north of Boston on the Massachusetts coast, Salem is easily accessible by car, train, and seasonal ferry. Please note: Exit numbers changed in 2020. Current exit numbers are listed below.
Once in Salem, follow signs to the Salem Visitor Center, Museums & Historic Sites, and Downtown Parking.
Please note: I-95 North and Route 128 North share the same road for the loop around Boston. At the divide, stay on Route 128 North.
ROUTE 128 NORTH
Take Exit 40A and follow Route 114 East into Salem. Alternative routes that receive less traffic during Haunted Happenings include Exit 39 to Lowell St. (Peabody) and Exit 41 to Endicott Street (Danvers).
FROM BOSTON (30-minute drive)
Take I-93 North to Exit 28A for I-95 North to Route 128 North and follow directions above. Do not follow signs for Salem, NH.
FROM THE NORTH
Take I-95 South (ME) or I-93 South (NH) to Route 128 North and follow directions above.
FROM THE WEST
Take I-90 East to I-95/Route 128 North and follow directions above.
FROM THE SOUTH
Take I-93 North to I-90 East via the Ted Williams Tunnel to Route 1A North. Follow Route 1A North to Salem.
FROM LOGAN AIRPORT (25-minute drive)
Take Route 1A North and follow signs to Salem Visitor Center and Downtown Parking.
Seasonal high-speed ferry service is available between Long Wharf in Boston (near the Aquarium) and Blaney Street in Salem (near The House of the Seven Gables). Visit SalemFerry.com for more information.
