Briefly...
A Word from the Executive Director
By Kit Kasner
We’ve had a busy summer – and now we are just returning from our 24th Annual Bar Convention at the Semiahmoo Resort. Due to the time lines for this magazine, the Convention recap and photos will not be featured until the next Pierce County Lawyer issue.
A personal thank you to our Lawyerpalooza organizers Chuck Johnston and Bill White for a great gathering and for their endless hours of work to make it happen; to Martin Duenhoelter for the use of his land; to Martha McLaughlin for all her help; and to Steve Merrival for all his work and making the best ‘brats’ in town. If you couldn’t attend this year, you’ll see the photos and read about what you missed on pages 16 and 17.
October brings us to the last quarter of the year and many CLEs are lining up quickly, so watch your emails. Sign up from our website (www.tpcba.com) or we’re happy to sign you up for CLEs by phone, just give us a call at 253 272-8871 with your credit card information.
Now is the time for you to think about running for a position on the TPCBA Board of Trustees. e Bar’s membership votes in January and the nominating committee has already begun their search for candidates to ll the open positions of three Trustees, one Vice President, and one Secretary-Treasurer in 2019-20. I think you would enjoy serving on our TPCBA board. Interested? Need more information? Call the Bar o ce for a “Statement of Intent” form or nd it on our website.
Membership renewals and updates of courthouse ID badges for 2019 will begin next month so watch your mail and email. You will be able to complete the dues form and pay on-line at www.tpcba.com a er November 1.
e Pierce County Lawyer magazine committee is looking for contributors. If you would like to send in an article of interest for our readership, please send it, along with a photo(s) to: director@tpcba. com
