Dear Westlake Chaparral Football Family,
What an incredibly wonderful season we had amidst this ever changing world we live in today! We really did not believe that we would get a full season much play all the way to state and WIN!! Our boys not only proved themselves as one of the top teams in the nation, they also made Westlake history. Peter and I were blessed to be part of the ride!
I want to thank my amazing sub varsity team parents, Kim Carr (Sophomore and JV) and Stephanie Land and Clarissa McWilliams (Freshman). Without your help, support and FLEXIBILITY, this year’s success would have been impossible!
I would also like to thank all the committee chairs and all the parents who volunteered and donated in so many ways! Your generosity and flexibility made our job so incredibly easy. The best part about being the team parents was seeing how this community rises to a challenge, problem solves and supports the cause - whether it was mass COVID testing to bringing your own juice (BYOJ), you all had it covered! For Peter and I personally, this job was a huge blessing. We were able to get to know so many of you all through this volunteer position and we made so many invaluable friendships along the way. It amazes us to see how different this community is and how unbelievably talented you all are! Our boys are extremely lucky!
Lastly, there are not enough adjectives to describe the incredible job our coaches did this season. In any season, there are challenges that they face, but this season was one for the history books! COVID-19 changed the way we did everything! Yet again, these incredible coaches took this challenge head on and came out victorious in the end! We as a community are forever grateful for the time on and off the field, the leadership and the care you all showed our boys this season! You all have provided them with an amazing foundation that these young men can carry with them for the rest of their lives!
We are excited to see what the future holds for these boys next year! We all know State Championships are just icing on the cake because the bonds of football are really the best part of it all.
Peter and I wish you all success in your future endeavors whatever and wher- ever that may lead you all! Being the 2020 Westlake Varsity team parents has touched our lives in so many ways. We can not thank you all enough!
