BIOGRAPHY OF
Rev. Pastor Carol Ann Skippings
Rev. Pastor Carol Ann Skippings was born on Grand Turk and was the 1st child
of the union of Fanny and Ival ‘’Barrister’’ Skippings.
She was educated in the customs of propriety and decorum, as well as in reverence and guidance from the Lord.
She received the hope of salvation in her early youth at the Cox Street Church of God of Prophecy, Grand Turk, under the pastorate of Rev. Joshua V. Gardiner [Deceased]. At the age of 12, she migrated to Freeport, Bahamas, where she continued her Christian nurturing through the exemplary life of her older sister, Evangelist Yvette Adams-Walkin.
Carol relocated to the Turks and Caicos Islands, took up residence in Provo, and reunited with her church family with a deep determination to follow Jesus—no turning back! The road would not be easy, and the experience she would often sum up this way: ‘’Through many dangers, tools, and snares, I have already come. T’was grace has brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.’’
She served in various capacities in ministry to the Church of God of Prophecy, namely Sunday school teacher, Women’s Ministries Director, and National Public Relations, and currently serves as National Women’s Ministries Director for the past 11 years and as Senior Pastor of the Church of God Prophecy, Downtown, Providenciales, for the past 10 years.
During her tenure, she served on many government and charitable boards: Chairman of the AIDS Committee, member of the Adoption Committee Board, Soroptimist International, and currently an executive member of the Turks and Caicos Christian Council. She is also a Justice of the Peace for the Turks and Caicos Islands.
She is the proud mother of 3 children, Anthony McPhee, Chevette McPhee- Capron, and Chakara Skippings, and a prouder grandmother of 4, and even prouder still as a great-grandmother of 6.
The Holy Ghost is her constant companion, the gospel is ever on her lips to set at liberty those that are bruised, and she is armed with a holy boldness that is reinforced with the unction of her favorite scripture, ’I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Her mission as senior pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy-Downtown is to grow her ministry from seeds to branches and to save the lost at any cost.
