  Obituary
On March 10, 1943 a beautiful baby girl was born to the late Earl and Jemima Hamilton of Bottle Creek, North Caicos, Turks & Caicos Islands. She was their sixth child. They named her Beryl Jemima. Her parents instilled in her strong Christian values and she accepted the Lord as her Saviour at an early age.
Beryl received her education at The Raymond Gardiner All Age School, North Caicos; Aquinas College and Nassau Technical College. Nassau, Bahamas. Her first church home was East Street Gospel Chapel where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She later moved to Grace Gospel Chapel and then Abundant Life Bible Church. She has been an active, faithful member from the church’s inception until her last days.
She met Alexander W. Gibson in 1965 and they were married on December 26, 1970. The union produced two children Alexandria and Alexis. She was a loving and faithful wife and mother.
She was a Professional Secretary and a master at Short-Hand. Her places of employment included BesCo., BitCo, First National CitiBank and Nottage Miller & Co. She was at Bahamas Development Bank from March 1981 until her untimely demise. She was scheduled to retire March first of this year, but God had other plans for her.
Beryl had a great love for all sports, especially Baseball and Basketball. She played Softball for Bahamas Development Bank. She was often referred to as “The Lakers’ greatest Sports Fan” and “The Orioles’ biggest fan of all time”. During her annual trips to Los Angeles she would be sure to catch a Lakers game with her nephews. At work she would play dominoes with “The Domino Girlz” during lunch time. She won many games and the floating trophy.
She vacationed in Los Angeles every year where she visited her nieces and nephews, who always looked forward to her arrival. For they knew that Auntie Beryl would always prepare all the “Bahamian Dishes” they loved so much.
Anyone who knew her, would know that Beryl was famous for her baking and cooking. She made many delicious pots of soup for Abundant Life’s Soup Day and Family Fun Day and carrot and fruit cakes for family and friends. We will all miss her delicious meals.
