MARILYN IDALIA LOUISE FORBES
On September 18, 1945, Marilyn Idalia Louise Forbes was born on the island of Grand Turk. She devoted her life to the Lord at the age of 18, and at the age of 19, she was married. For 36 years, Marilyn was employed by the Turks and Caicos Islands government. In 1964, Marilyn was hired as a clerk at the Post Office and Savings Bank. She later moved to the Treasury, where she worked as an accounts clerk before being promoted to account officer and serving as chief accountant for almost four years. She was appointed as the Permanent Secretary for Environmental Health, which included DECR, in 1976. Later, she was appointed Permanent Secretary for Health, which included Social Welfare and the National Insurance Board.
Although Marilyn retired in September 2000, she remained as Chief Immigration Officer through December 31, 2000.
She worked for seven years as the Potters House Pastor at Revival Faith Center (RFC), where she is now Pastor Emeritus under Senior Pastor Temard Butterfield. She is blessed with four children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Her daily motto is “I am blessed, highly favored, prosperous, and in good health.”
