TREVOR MUSGROVE
As a kid growing up in North Caicos, my parents had one of the first hotels of such on that island. It was 5-one
Mom would cook a nice meal and get him settled and then board meeting on Saturday morning. But, it has always been a dream of my family to own and operate a hotel.

bedroom units on the beach, now called Hollywood Suites, that they later sold. Other than Mr Clifford Gardiner, it was only us locals doing that kind of business and I must say, in my eyes he is a true pioneer.
We would have tourists from all over the
We plan to open doors by the end of next year, 2026. We are going to offer first class service to our guests and would like to hire as many qualified Turks and Caicos Islanders as possible. Tourism is our bread and butter, as we like to say. So, we should be leaders in
world come and stay at that property and sometimes, they would book for the following year. Back then, there was no reservations system, or cancellation, write it down and hope they show up or you don’t double book. I say all this to say this is not new territory for us. We just now have the training, tools and skills to make this into what it always had the potential to be.
the industry - not just merely workers in it. I am so happy to see so many of my colleagues and government officials came out to Support me and my family , it really means a lot. I am thankful to Hon Premier and his team for facilitating a development agreement for this project. This has been part of making this dream a reality. Thank you all for showing up and supporting this. As small as it might seem, I believe it’s a catalyst, Coming from a small town like Whitby this was only a dream, but together we can do this and we will.
My background is construction and hospitality. I have served on the TCHTA, (Turks and Caicos Hotel Tourism Association) Board of Directors for some eight years; also, I am a former President of that organization and Deputy Chairman of the then Tourist Board. During that time, I have seen many resorts coming to the island, very few that are 100% locally owned. Some might see this as small for Grace Bay, but I believe this is significant because it gives hope to other young Turks and Caicos Islanders that this is possible. We did not do this on our own and it wasn’t
So, as we move forward, this isn’t just about building a hotel — it’s about building legacy, ownership, and belief in what’s possible for Turks and Caicos Islanders.
From our roots in North Caicos to standing here today on Grace Bay, we’ve come full circle. And we’re not stopping here — this is just the beginning.
an easy road by any means. But, I believe my parents are proud of this and this is really a dedication to them for their hard work and determination.
To every young person watching, dreaming, wondering if it’s possible — I say: Yes it is. You can do it too. We are doing it.
I worked with my father building that property. On completion, my mother and I were the managers. I would do some of the cleaning, checking in on the guests; and most times, if there was something that needed attention, I would deal with that as well. My father worked on Provo during the week. So, my mom and I ran the operation. On weekends, he would come and deal with any major issues. I remember we would allow folks to stay and they would say on their departure they would pay only to find out they would sometimes leave early, knowing we would not catch them before and
This project is the first of a few in the pipeline from our development group. Another project is already in the works and will be launched later this year - similar style and concept but on a different scale.
Thank you again to my family, my team, and every one of you who showed up today. Your presence means more than you know.
they would end up getting a free stay, lol.
That won’t be happening here lol. When daddy would return, we would have to explain what happened to the money; that, by no means, was an easy meeting. “Susan what happened to the money?!!!!”
Our goal is to own and operate several of these properties and create a brand that is fully locally owned and operated, we are moving intentionally into the hotel industry, so to my fellow hoteliers, friends ,government and the wider public - we are putting you on notice - we are coming and would like the same support that is given to any of the new foreign resort. I look forward to working with all of you. Special thanks to some folks I consider icons in this industry: Nikheel Advani, Let’s keep building. Let’s keep believing. Let’s keep owning our future.
Karen S Whitt, and Michel Neutelings. They have supported and encouraged me from day one and I
