STAR CROSSED DOCTORS
Picture this: 1986 - twas Bottle Creek,
A Baptist Youth conference - a spiritual retreat; He was thirteen, she was ten,
That’s when this love story began; A red head, light skinned, church piano playing boy, Was destined to bring her a lifetime of joy.
The second time this star crossed couple met, It was obvious their story had not been penned yet; She was fresh out of high school while he graduated tertiary, For the next year they worked at Barclays consolidating their history.
Had she gone straight to college after graduating Raymond Gardiner High, She’d have missed her Prince Charming, a College of The Bahamas alumni; As fate would have it, both had made plans, To study medicine in Jamaica, that’s where it all began.
In high school, most times nobody knows what they want to do, So, she chose to study business, a broader field to pursue;
But by the second term in fourth form it was crystal clear, That medicine was her future so she switched to science from there.
Each weekend and sometimes weekdays, she was tutored in biology, By Mrs. Allum, her teacher, privately; Her mom, Sandra Gardiner, drove her from Bottle Creek to Kew,
DRS. HALL
The importance of those lessons, she very well knew. With her foundation in science, the transition was easy, First pre med, then medicine, she advanced arsiduously.
For the next few years, they balanced studies and romance,
Either at UWI in Jamaica or at COB in New Providence;
With only a two year hiatus, while she was at C.O.B.,
Then throughout their courtship—the young people say dating—in Jamaica, basically.
Eventually, in Jamaica, the two lovebirds said, “I do!” Two hearts, one purpose - a dream to make come true. Afterward, he moved back home to Turks and Caicis, sans his mate,
Who stayed for two final years until she would graduate; She next moved to New Providence to do her internship, Then, returned home to her soulmate and their relationship.
Twenty years and two kids later, they are still going strong, Having built up a primary care practice that is three-pronged; A clinic, a pharmarcy and a dental care, Providing urgent healthcare to folks most in despair. This visionary duo powered by faith and hope, Started at Myrtle Rigby Clinic, twas there they learned the ropes; Both served in administration, he was even at the top, Both Senior Health Officers, he Chief Medical doctor.
Eight years spent with government, working as a team, Both passed on working at Cheshire Hall instead to pursue their dream; The need for accessible healthcare at an affordable price was their goal,
First on a small scale at Horizon House, a branch in Grace Bay, their Covid baby, and now Family Care Medical Centre, a marvel to behold.
Despite demanding schedules, they are active in their church and community, Both credit their christian upbringing for their prosperity. Picture this: the year 2025 Dr. Hall and Dr. Hall - decendants of Musgrove and Hall - we salute you with pride!
