On 23rd March, 1973 expressions of joy, happiness and pride filled the hearts of Mahlon and Clarice Bethel when they welcomed their firstborn daughter
Cindy Marlene Demetria Bethel into this world. Cindy
was a very sweet bouncing baby girl everyone wantedt o hold. Mahlon and Clarice adored their precious baby girl and
she was given the nickname ‘Cindy B’ by her dad.
As Cindy grew, it was time to begin her schooling. She was
enrolled in Wee Wisdom for her preschool years. Her mom thought her first day of preschool would be met with tears and Cindy clinging onto her, however, being the social butterfly Cindy happily waved goodbye to her mom as she was eager to
interact with the other children.
After graduating preschool, Cindy went on to start her primary years at Nassau Christian Academy where she studied there up to the fifth grade. Cindy was then moved to S. C. McPherson
High School where she graduated 12th grade.
Having an interest in secretarial work and Cindy eventually pursued a degree at Success Training College where she obtained
an Associates Degree in Automated Science.
On the path to find her way in life, Cindy took pleasure in working for her mother at the family’s Laundry and Dry Cleaning store for several years. As time went on Cindy wanted more and she sought employment with the Atlantis Resort & Casino. She was successful in obtaining a position as a waitress serving in the Room service department for many years. Eventually she transferred to Bimini Road Restaurant where she continued to serve as a waitress. She loved her job dearly and looked forward to going to work each day. She always spoke of how she
intended to work there until her retirement.
Cindy was the most kind and patient person, she was the baby sitter, the chauffer, she was it all for her family, she was the life of the party
wherever she went.
Unfortunately, retirement never came as Cindy unexpectedly fell ill. On Monday the 23rd of August, while at home on sick leave, her dad went to check on her to see if she needed anything to make her comfortable. He was not pleased with her response so he immediately went to dress her and take her to the South Beach clinic for medical assistance. She was admitted that evening and treated by the kind Doctors and nurses there. On Tuesday afternoon she took a turn for the worse and it was later that
evening Cindy slipped away into the arms of her heavenly Father.
