But in 2018, Patsy was diagnosed with colon cancer. This happened just a year after losing her mom who was her greatest source of strength. Miraculously, she beat the odds and she was declared cancer free. But alas, mere months later, she was diagnosed with lupus. This monster attacked her organs and made her quality of life very limited. She carefully watched her diet; was scrupulously careful with her surroundings (even more than before) and
followed the doctor’s instructions to the letter. Despite her failing health, she fought! She was never pessimistic but said that no matter what, God’s Got her!
And now, He does! Somehow, despite her textbook tale of caution, she somehow contracted the dreaded Covid. Her fortieth anniversary was spent with Covid – both she and her husband of
forty years! Since April of this year 2021, she has been relegated to ICU on a ventilator. But like a champion, whenever the pain eased enough, she would muster up a message of hope.
