Evangelism and fun sound like total opposites. When Jesus sent out the disciples to preach the Gospel, they came back totally excited because they had experienced how God used them. When he had just reached an entire village, Jesus himself said that it was God‘s food for him to do His will (John 4:34). This means that Jesus found total fulfillment here. You too can discover this happiness.
But what do you feel when you think of evangelism? Maybe you are afraid, have no desire at all, or suffer from social anxiety. Many Christians believe that evangelism is not their calling and that others should do it. Many believe that they are already serving God with their abilities in other areas. But Jesus called everyone to reach people with the Gospel. You can learn to overcome your fears, shortcomings, passivity, or feelings of inability.
In the past, it was not always easy for me to tell others about Jesus. But I have discovered how evangelism can be very simple and fun in everyday life. I was thrilled about how God worked through evangelism. one time, I stood at the checkout of a supermarket to pay for my pizza and asked myself how I could approach the cashier. Then I had a good idea: “You‘re always so friendly, I‘d make you employee of the month.“ He laughed and shortly after- wards we had a longer conversation about faith.
