A photoresist - a uv photosensitive polymer supplied as a liquid or dry film - is used to produce an image on metal . Where the photoresist has been exposed to uv radiation, it becomes insoluble in a developer solution and adheres strongly to the metal surface to form an etchant-resistant coating.
