Reflective Essay
Each student will submit a 2,500 – 4,000 word essay, diary or other form of communication that discusses their growth and understanding in the class. By answering directed prompts, there will be an opportunity to fully synthesize the material from the class and form conclusions about how technology and values intersect. With thoughtful reflection, each student will come to their own conclusion about the main themes in the class – specifically, progress vs. change, technology’s role in society, our role as creators of tech and the ethics of a society rules by a technology out of control.
EXTRA CREDIT
At the instructor’s discretion, there may be extra credit assignments offered to students needing to make up points due to absences or other grades in the class. Any student interested in discussing his or her options should see the instructor during office hours. (see above)
